4 Star Trek books based on the Original Series, with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock.
Timetrap, first published in 1988 has Kirk on the cover with a black shirt on standing next to a Klingon woman in green jumpsuit. This is an excellent story. Kirk finds a disabled Klingon vessel in Federation space, goes to investigate and a storm flares up sending Kirk 100 years into the future, He WAKES UP with Klingons all around him! By David Dvorkin.
In Crossroad, another time jump novel, the Enterprise encounters the Nautilis crew members, who say they are from the future. Their ship is battered and seems different, when suddenly the other starship chasing them arrives and tells Kirk to give back the renegades! How does the Prime Directive play into that? In the Starship Trap, by Mel Gilden, the Enterprise is assaulted by a Klingon warship, whose captain says many Klingon vessels have disappeared and he blames Kirk. When Kirk makes a truce, both captains find out that Federation vessels, Romulan Birds of Prey and ships from every known race has been disappearing!
In the Great Starship Race, printed in 1993 by Diane Carey, a multi race space ship race takes place far out in space. But the fun goes away when a Romulan space ship turns up and wants to join the race. Now mayhem is around the corner and at each race checkpoint in the race. Captain Kirk and the Romulan Commander engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse and the race becomes a struggle for survival. This is classic Star Trek.
