Please read this post fully.
Dear Freecyclers:
I must tell you all that I am on a quest to understand the mind of a flaker. I admit, I flaked once, but I've been paid back hundred-fold for my freecycle gaffe. And, after I write something publicly, or call out the offending party, they ALL tell me the same thing--that their mother was rushed to the hospital and that they are sorry, should have called, but were at said hospital with their mother. I'm not kidding--that excuse has been used MANY times by different people. Odd.
Of course, I can't get angry, lest I be seen as barbaric, but let me gently tell you that if you're going to flake, come up with a creative excuse--push yourself to really get a good story going that doesn't involve your mother with some awful emergency. Obviously, it's used more often that you imagine.
All that said, I've finally freed myself from my compulsion to relist it, so now I just recycle it or throw it away, which makes me sad, but I'll go on--I'll be ok.
Now, I have a few more items that I'm getting rid of--please specify WHICH you would like. Responses saying, 'what the address?' or "I'm interested" will be deleted, because that's really unhelpful and I don't want to give a bag of stuff to someone who is going to throw away half the stuff that someone else might have wanted. Also, let me remind you that being polite goes a long way. A small, "please" and "thank you" are nice--after all, this stuff is FREE and whatever thing you pick up will presumably make you a little happy, so be grateful.
All this stuff needs to be picked up asap (which could mean today or tomorrow by 9pm) and location is: 90/bway, 10024. Please include your cell number and specific times that you can come by.
items include:
wooden stool (in good condition, not great condition)
drinkwell pet water filters
brand new set of Mickey Mouse beverage charms (that I think you put on wine glasses?) and a little bib that you could put on your wine bottle
felt furniture pads
reoffered:
plastic magazine racks that you can sort your magazines and store them on a shelf--they are black and one is skinny and one is fat (ie, can hold double the amount of the skinny one)
2 small glass bottles, which are very cute--I was going to throw them in recycling this morning and couldn't bring myself to do it--with spouts, perfect for olive oil and vinegar
I also have books to sort through and more cds but unsure of exactly what I'm getting rid of at this point.
THank you.
