[FCNYC] OFFER: 34" SONY CRT HDTV (Upper West Side)

 

34" 16x9, flat front CRT with superb blacks and color rendition. Has
great built in stereo sound and surround system including built in-
subwoofer system!

The Sony XBR CRTs are legendary for their PQ and support 480i, 480p,
720p and 1080i.

If you are a TV repair savvy guy or gal who appreciates the amazing
quality of the SONY XBR series of HDTV's, here is a late 2001 model that
is working but has started to exhibit 7 blinking lights. Unplugging it
for a day will restore it for a while

7 blinking lights -- do a Google search -- indicates an inexpensive IC
($20 or less) on the D board attached to the rear of the CRT needs
replacing.

Sony will only replace the entire D board at a parts cost of $230 plus
labor which can run another $200 for the in-home visit.

So this is a nice find for a DIY person (which is not me).

This TV weighs 200 lbs you WILL need at least 2 strong men, a dolly and
a truck or station wagon/SUV. Elevator bldg with ramp at side entrance.
